This years Holker Garden Festival is over the weekend of 8th to 10th June, with 2012 marking the 20th Anniversary of the festival.

The three day event is hosted by Lord & Lady Cavendish, and celebrates the best of gardens, countryside and food, and is set in 25 acres within the Holker Estate. The festival offers something for everyone whether you're green fingered and looking for a rare plant or a family wanting a fun packed day out.

Scott May's Daredevil Stuntshow - Kendal 3rd June 2012

Scott May's Daredevil Stunt Show is coming to the Circus Field at Kendal on Sunday 3rd June.

The show features FMX (freestyle motocross), motorbike, car and fire stunts, monster truck jumps, two wheeled driving, pyrotechnics and much more.

Scott May’s Daredevil Stuntshow has been touring throughout the UK since 1991 and over the years has entertained thousands of people, of all age groups.

This years Kitefest was held on 12th and 13th May at Wilson Park, Haverrigg which is situated on the award winning Lake District Coast. The stunning views in the distance are Black Combe, and the Coniston fells. Kite display teams from around Northern England took part in the two day event.

Border City Steam Fair 2nd, 3rd & 4th June 2012

This years Border City Steam Fair will take place over the Bank Holiday weekend of 2nd, 3rd and 4th June. The fair is held annually at Rickerby Park in Carlisle which is close to the M6 motorway, and only a short walk from the city centre. The fair is held in aid of the Eden House Children's Hospice, the Eden Valley Hospice and also the Pride Of Cumbria Air Ambulance.

Appleby Horse Fair has been held for one week every year from the first Thursday in June until the second Wednesday since at least 1750. The fair is world famous, and unique throughout Europe.

The annual event is attended by Gypsies and Travellers mainly to buy and sell horses, but also to celebrate their history and folklore and meet with old friends. Traditionally the Travellers reside on Fair Hill, just on the outskirts of Appleby, and younger members of their families wash the horses in the River Eden to prepare them for sale.

This is one of the UKs largest Easter egg hunts and this year as it is Peter Rabbit's 110th Birthday there are 110 hand-crafted ceramic Easter eggs hidden throughout Cumbria. Each ceramic egg is a fantastic prize and not only allows the winner free entry in to The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, they will also receive a special edition Beatrix Potter book. There is also 10 BIG prizes to be won. Freerange Comedy Festival 2012

After the success of last years first Freerange Comedy Festival, the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal have managed to secure even bigger well known stand up acts for this years festival on 23rd to 27th May.

Acts include Jack Dee, Jeremy Hardy, Lucy Porter, Phil Kay, Chris Ramsey, late night comedy club sketch shows, with loads more acts to still be announced.

Malcolm Wilson Rally 3rd March

The Malcolm Wilson Rally starts at 8:30am in Cockermouth's Main Street on Saturday 3rd March. Entries from all over the UK will compete in the three forest stages - Whinlatter Forest near Bassenthwaite Lake and Keswick, Grizedale Forest near Ulverson and Coniston, and Greystoke Forest near Penrith.

Free entry for spectators.
