The 2012 Ullswater Beer and Music Festival is on the weekend of 18th and 19th May. The festival takes place in Patterdale at the Southern end of lake Ullswater, below Place Fell and Helvellyn.

What better way to unwind and quench your thirst after a good ramble than the chance to sample some of the 70 barrels of real ales, ciders and perrys, which have been specially selected for the festival from local Cumbrian breweries such as Keswick Brewery and Hesket Brewery, and also from neighbouring counties.

Entertainment will be provided by three bands on the Friday night with activities starting at 5:30pm to 10:30pm, and four bands on the Saturday, 3:30pm to 10:30pm. Tickets are £8 and can be bought online by visiting the website. A ticket not only gains you entry into the marquee, but also your first pint is free, you get a commemorative drinking vessel, and a festival program listing the barrels and tasting notes, along with a schedule of the live bands. On the website you can also listen to several tracks from each of the bands who will be playing over the weekend.

Not only does the festival help promote the spectacular Ullswater Valley it also helps raise funds for Patterdales school and the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team.
